Program Highlights
At MSNV, learning is designed to engage the whole child — intellectually, creatively, physically, and socially. Our Program Highlights reflect the experiences that enrich daily classroom learning and support students as they grow in confidence, curiosity, and connection to the world around them.
From early childhood through middle school, students explore ideas through hands-on discovery, creative expression, movement, and real-world application — building skills that extend far beyond academics.
Environmental Studies & Outdoor Learning
Nature has always been an essential part of the MSNV experience. Beginning in Preprimary and continuing through Middle School, students engage in environmental studies that foster curiosity, responsibility, and respect for the natural world.
Through gardening, nature hikes, observation, research, recycling, and composting, children learn that caring for the earth is both a daily practice and a shared responsibility. These experiences help students develop environmental awareness while deepening their connection to the world around them.
World Languages
MSNV students are introduced to world languages early, beginning with weekly Spanish instruction in Primary.
As students progress through Elementary, language learning continues, with opportunities to explore additional languages in Middle School. This early and ongoing exposure builds communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence — preparing students to engage thoughtfully in an increasingly interconnected world.
Music & Performing Arts
Creative expression is woven throughout the MSNV curriculum.
Students begin with weekly music classes in Preprimary, building foundational skills in rhythm, listening, and self-expression. As they grow, opportunities expand in Elementary and Middle School to include performing arts and musical productions, allowing students to collaborate, build confidence, and experience the joy of creative storytelling and performance.
Movement, Physical Education & Healthy Habits
Physical activity is an important part of daily life at MSNV.
Primary students participate in weekly movement activities that support coordination, focus, and joyful engagement with their bodies. Beginning in Elementary, students attend physical education at a state-of-the-art sports complex, with continued athletic opportunities through Upper Elementary and Middle School. These experiences promote wellness, teamwork, resilience, and confidence.
Innovation Studio
MSNV’s Innovation Studio is STEM central, offering Elementary students a space to imagine, design, and build.
Through hands-on projects that blend creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking, students bring ideas to life while developing skills in collaboration, planning, and experimentation. The Innovation Studio encourages curiosity and innovation, reinforcing the Montessori belief that children learn best by doing.
